I had a T8 LED “shop lamp” fixture lying around and at the same time I can never get enough light, so I thought I should whip up a mount for the fixture. This one works excellently. This is for the T8 fixtures that are often referred to as shop lamps. Those ones are mounted on an aluminum extrusion as opposed to the round bulb replacement type. This fixture is very simple, screw to the ceiling and snap in the lamp.

This mount extends 200mm from the mounting surface. I used 3 to mount an 8′ lamp. Two would be adequate for a 2 or 4 foot lamp.

From my experience, all of these aluminum-backed lamps have virtually identical dimensions but that may not always be the case so I am including an image showing the dimensions of the opening for the lamp. Mine was essentially 30.8mm x 4.25mm. And, I therefore made the opening 31.4mm x 4.9mm.
